    Am I on track?

If you do water changes during the cycle it will prolong it. If the LR already has 3 weeks of curing, you might not have much of a cycle to speak of. Start testing and see where the params read.

    Macro Algae?

If it is as neon as what I have seen of others it sure makes it prettier on the eyes.

    Macro Algae?

As long as you have Neomeris Annulata thriving in your tank, your calcium is at a very good level. As to a laymans name, you got me there, never heard of one. I don't think that they get very big, inch or so max maybe, again, not real sure as I've never had them in my tank.

    Caulerpa taking over!

I had a 5 lb piece that had caulpra (and a few others) growing on it and finally got tired of pulling the tweezers out so I ened up getting rid of the entire rock! Kris now has it.

    Caulerpa taking over!

If it is in the nooks and crannys, DJ is right, only very good water quality is going to correct the problem. Why not get an older HOB filter and make a fuge? Will help the tank in the long run.

    Caulerpa taking over!

:D I like your since of humor. I can't see where a fuge would be a bad idea for any size tank. Anyway, there are many people, surely someone local to you that would either buy or take it off your hands. Has it got a strong hold on your lr?

    Caulerpa taking over!

That's why I say a fuge, it keeps it contained. Im not finding much in the way other than tangs.

    Caulerpa taking over!

haha that's funny, a bumper crop of caulerpa. If that ever happens again, you can always try to sell it to someone with a fuge. As for a fish that will eat it and fit in a 12g tank, Im checking on that.

Best bet is to find what Mike used, seeing as to how it worked for his setup.

    djconn's 5.5

Mine is doing extremely well. It was attached to a few pieces of rubble, so I placed the rubble in a hole, so it looks like it just flows out of a large piece of LR. Will post pics again soon. I am amazed that it is so big. :D
