    Lighting upgrade for a NanoCube

I have been considering upgrading my lights on my NanoCube 12 DX from the stock pair of 28 watt PCs to four 28 watt PCs. If I do this I will be buying the kit from www.nanocustoms.com but I would like to hear someone opinion of the upgrade that has done so themselves. Is the upgrade a...

Half Of The Coral Reefs Could Be destroyed...

Reading this article reminded me of the discussion given by Dr. Ron Shimek at this years MACNA, his discussion was about how historically reefs have died off and then been reborn in new areas. It was a very interesting presentation and it made you think about what we might be able to do to help...

    Screebo's algae farm

Glad I could help. The brushes are a bit larger than a toothbrush and alot stiffer so they can give the algae a good scrubbin'.

    gobies

My LFS keeps the Yashes, Panda, and Grissingeri gobies all in the same tank when they have them in stock. I don't think that any of the clown gobies (including the citron) would be any problem because as previously mentioned they don't inhabit the same areas. HTH, Skip

    Screebo's algae farm

If you go to a store that sells gun cleaning items (I went to WalMart) you can find a set of 3 brushes that are quite useful for this kind of cleaning. The set comes with a stainless steel brush, a nylon brush and a brass brush. I mainly use the stainless and nylon brushes and save the brass...

Half Of The Coral Reefs Could Be destroyed...

It does cost a bit more to buy farm raised and captive bred fish/corals but it is a much more responsible thing to do. I would personally rather buy a frag of something from someone than buy a WC colony. I also buy CB fish whenever they are an option. If someone is looking for a challenge...

    to many pods?

I don't think you could have too many because the population will be in line with what your tank can support, the rest would die off. Skip

Please ID the pink worms/snakes/tentacles coming outta rock

I have seen numerous "arms" poking out of my LR searching for food. I agree with Sadie that it is some kind of harmless worm trying to find dinner.

    sexy shrimp

I have a single in one of my nanocubes and it is always out in the open near its favorite coral. I also have a nanocube that has a fairly large group of these neat little guys, the only other tankmate (other than a couple of snails) is an anenome shrimp. I think that the group has a bit more...

I got an Organ Pipe coral... LFS said it was Clove Polyp

Nice find. I have always thought of them as being one of my favorite LPS corals but for some reason I have never tried to keep one. Good luck.

will an emerald crab kill my hermits

Emeralds generally eat algae, so if your tank is getting low on algae you may want to supplement their diet with a suitable substitue to keep them from possibly becoming aggressive to survive.

Need input on water flow/circulation... please...

I also say that your tank will tell if you really need more flow but I too would be afraid of those little dead areas where detritus can accumulate. If you are afraid of too much flow there are a couple of small powerheads that should be able to fit your needs. I would look for a Zoomed 104...

    Does anyone here keep seahorses?

The care articles in the library are also available to be printed off and distributed at a LFS for people wanting to keep seahorses, The people on the board are a caring bunch that want the best for all of the seahorses that are going to be kept in captivity.
