    New 2.5G my first Nano

I agree, BB is no problem at all. There are alot of reefers that only have BB tanks but its my personal preference to have a substrate for looks.

    Oh Boy....My Winter project...

That tank is looking great! I especially liked the zoas and the emerald crabs pics. You may want to think about getting one of the Nimble magnet cleaners to go in there, they work great and they fit in the tank alot better than the stock JBJ cleaner that comes with the cubes. That thread I...

    Saddle Valentini Puffer?

I think you are stuck with filters and manual cleaning with this kind of fish since he will eat any of our regular cleaners AFAIK.

    Snowflake eel, what to feed?

Most LFS and pet superstores carry things like krill and silversides, you need to look in their frozen foods. Some LFS just have a regular freezer so you may have to ask about frozen foods.

    Oh Boy....My Winter project...

I found this thread on nano-reef about one of the 6.6 tanks and I thought it was a petty interesting read and thought you may like to read it too: http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.p ... ntry690836 .

trying to DIY, but need a little help

Open the top of the nanocube and you'll see the return line on the far right, if you grab the elbow and wiggle it while pulling back it will come out. After the elbow is loose just pull the pump and all straight up and out of the tank. You can then pull the hose off of the pump and slip it on...

    Underwater glue

I think that any super glue gel will work underwater, you will want to be careful about getting it on you though. What are you trying to glue? As reefman already pointed out you can also use one of the 2 part epoxy putties underwater as well.

I can't wait to see where the 6.6 end up going, it has alot of potential.

Trying to get back into the game...

With a pair of the 70 watters you could spread them out to get full coverage on your tank without adding alot of extra light but you would have 2 bulbs to replace when time instead of one.

Setting up a small Nano Tank

Here is a link to it, you may be able to find it cheaper but I wanted to post this so you know you are comparing prices on the same thing. You will want to note that it comes in two sizes, what they call a unit and they also have a half-unit. Link: http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_fil...

Advice on upgrading to 24 Gal Nano

I just posted on that thread also, I think that a DE 150 watt MH is plenty of light for the tank you describe. The higher the wattage the more electricity to run it and the more heat it produces.

I take your last post as everything went fine with the fragging and reaquascaping?

Trying to get back into the game...

The trigger is not reef safe as you have already thought about. A single MH is good to light 2 square feet of tank so a 30 inch tank like the 20 long will have low light areas on each end of the tank with a single MH. IMO a 150 DE MH will be plenty of light for either the 20 or the 25, DE...

    New 2.5G my first Nano

BTW, this is a Canadian website so I think the prices are in Canadian dollars. I mainly wanted to point this out for us Americans that will think the prices are way out of line.

You can also use finely crushed coral or dolomite if there is no way to find aragonite. Here is a link to a page that has aragonite sand in Canada, alot of us use the Arag-Alive sand you see near the bottom of the page: http://www.bigalsonline.ca/catalog/cate ... ry_id=1677 .

Advice on upgrading to 24 Gal Nano

I think a 250 or 400 watt MH would be kinda overkill, I would go with a 150 DE MH at most possibly with some actinic PCs. You will have some evaporation with a MH and an open topped tank but it shopuldn't be too hard top set up an auto topoff unit to compensate. By keeping the fans in the...

Is my Crab going to be ok?

It is a filter feeder and feeds off of plantonic foods, I use a combination of zooplankton and phytoplankton in my tank and my porcelin crab seems to be doing fine.

The aragonite will eventually become live as the bacteria grows on it, it also helps to stabilize alkalinity due to it slowly dissolving (over years).

Neat idea, I really like it. Adding extra outlets is a good idea but make sure they are GFCI protected for safety.
