As far as the slime and other undesired inhabitants in your tank go, I would recommend filling the tank with hot water and a few cups of vinegar and letting it sit for a day or so. That will clean everything out. Scrub and rinse it all out and you should be good to go. I soak my powerheads in...

Well, I plan to do the zoo tank thing but in my 5.5 b/c the lighting is so good. The 2.5 only has 13X2 watts and I'm not so sure that zoanthinds would thrive with that kind of lighting. Hmmmm...

Updated pics! I've added a few more candy cane frags and and nice orange zoanthid piece. My xenia is growing like crazy. Might need to frag them soon.

What are the specifics of the tank you're looking at? How many gallons, filter, etc. Can you post a link to it? We can go from there. The good news is that soft corals generally require less light but are just as interesting in my opinion.
