Ed, Yes it is a sponge and it has a type of encrusting organism on it. The sponge seems to be doing very good and I can see it water tubes opening and expanding. I am hoping the the encrusting stuff is eating the same as the sponge. I have found with sponges that you will know pretty fast...

Well, I think I have finally got the zoo eating nudi problem under control! The tank is starting to mature and the critters are settling in and taking on some color. here are a few updated shots. The first will be a full tank shot and then the old leftside, middle and right side, group...

Ed, Not to hijack the thread, but try spraying them off, every day witha turkey baster. give them a pretty good shot of pressure, sometimes this helps them get going..... sorry sadielynn, didn't mean to get off topic..... :oops:

I have had them come in as low as 54* F...... If they are "not" going to make it, they usally start to dissolve pretty fast. ed, I know what you mean, that is the one thing keeping me from placing an order with them. I like to know "exactly" which zoo I am getting. :razz: :lol:

I am betting that they do fine!!! I have delt with Dr Foster and Smith(same Company) and have had the same kind of great service. 150 gallon bucket of salt mix didn't arrive the day that was posted......I called and asked if ther was a problem, they sent a free one, just in case!!!

From what I have read, the verdict is still out...... Seems maybe the palys are a more likely to have them..... To be safe, you can wear latex gloves.....

Yeah for great viewing and crisp light...... there is nothing like VHO..... I run a combo of VHO and MH on my 120 prop tank
