I think that you will be fine with the settings mine swings from 80.1 to about 73.0 degrees , I had ask awhile back and they concensus was that you dont want swings greater than 4-5 degrees in a 24 hour period , I dont have a heater because I do have the ph filter that does put off heat but...

I would not I would ask the lfs if they would keep it if you pay for it but keeping it in a bucket would not be the best option imo

what do your test perameters say you may want to go to the lfs and have them test maybe a 2 or 3 gallon h20 change what about other things in the tank shrooms other polyps maybe stinging them maybe move them are you dosing any thing also could some one have put something into the tank?

try vinigar and also a small piece of scrub and toss (cut into quarters) white side rince well with hot h20 for the out side (cover top well) spritz some eye glass cleaner usually rubbing alchol rince with hot water dry buff with news paper
