I think that you will be fine with the settings mine swings from 80.1 to about 73.0 degrees , I had ask awhile back and they concensus was that you dont want swings greater than 4-5 degrees in a 24 hour period , I dont have a heater because I do have the ph filter that does put off heat but...

you may want to go to the lfs and have them test
maybe a 2 or 3 gallon h20 change what about other things in the tank shrooms other polyps maybe stinging them maybe move them

try vinigar and also a small piece of scrub and toss (cut into quarters) white side
rince well with hot h20 for the out side (cover top well) spritz some eye glass cleaner usually rubbing alchol rince with hot water dry buff with news paper

I like the idea incysor had of a kitchen trash can and they come in lots of colors that would match but if you have no choice how bout the bucket with a silk plant

I think that it refers to the size of the display tank not total as I said I rhink it will be interisting to see how others think but my opinion is yes it is still a pico tank
awsome now for a quick question I can not tell on the one picture but will it suck up fish or do you need to put a "prefilter" ie ac filter pad on it or will it interfere with the performance
