Perhaps you could add an addtional power head for increased flow just get a small power head and that should help you out :-)

I have seen that it is not worth it because it is masking a low calcium level in your tank that should be fixed from the source , how ever I would think that you could use it as a suppliment like hooterhead states , we are just now starting to see some coraline growth in our tanks we introduced...
