    > Changing Tank, Can I Just Move Everything Over?

The bacteria on the LR that you are transfering over will seed new sand. If you move the sand over you are more likely to have another cycle like Jesse mentioned. Also you could use new sand (probably going to need more anyway) and place some of the old sand with it to speed things along...

Hermit crab mystery and brown stuff.....

Its pretty much normal for a new tank to go through a diatom bloom. You can syphon off what you can get to and it should help it clear up. :D

IT's OFFICIAL! I have HAD IT!

I hear you, I've getting ready to go to war as well with them. I used to use Lemon juice on them and it worked relatively well, now it doesn't seem to effect them at all. If memery serves me correctly....I think I got mine for who?

    cycling and live rock

Well even with that kind of transit (lucky girl! :D ) I'd still expect some dieoff. When the sand gets in, you'll have to remove the rock anyway, so I wouldn't worry to much right now. I think that the sand itself is going to kickstart the cycle. Watch your readings after a few days of...

    cycling and live rock

The cured rock, where did you purchase it, a LFS or online? Even if the rock was completely cured with quick transit time, always expect a little bit of 'die off'. From the die off the cycle will start. If you are picking up a 0 reading of nitrItes, then there might be a little bit of...

    Temp. question

That's a good question K. I've always thought of it as in the Ocean there is more of a water colum so that the temperature changes are more gradual to where in a tank that is a confined and limited space the temperature swings are more drastic. I know Im not explaining it right but...

    cycling and live rock

:welcome to Nanotank Karen! A Cycle has the 'potential' to kill off good stuff on live rock. You can try to minimize this by doing water changes (deluting the concentration of Amonia for one) during the cycle but on the same hand doing so can prolong it as well. Here are a few questions...
