Sorry. What I am trying to say is how many hours a day should a UV be run on a reef tank? I was told at one point they can strip to much from the water. Is this true?

Mike, My tang has had ick for about a month now. It all started after I lost two fish. Come to find out one of them jumped to its death. However the other must have died and is exactly when the tang showed up with ick. However the fish that died had no signs of ick. The tang is still a...

I don't know how accurate this is but I once heard that sterilizers can stip to many inpurities from a reef tank. Again, I don't know if that is acurate but I don't see a lot of reefers running sterilizers. That is why I thought minimal hours would work. I just hate killing fish and is why...

I know...that is the one big thing I worry about. How often do you run your sterilizer? Is it constant? I used to have one hooked up to an old tank that was constant, but if I do it this time I was considering only running it at night.
