Erik, I found that this skimmer works in anywhere from 2"-11" of water. It has a constant water level inside due to it's multiple baffles... just FYI.

Thanks Tim! I just downloaded that Opera and so far I love it! I have always used IE, but people at work have been telling me about Firefox and various other browsers, but I never gave them a try.

You dont HAVE to cover SE halides. Unless it is a couple inches away from the surface where it could be splashed, dont worry about it. It will just unnecessarily cut down on the PAR of the lights.
HTH,
Jesse
the more I read about skimming, the less I believe in it. I no longer run a skimmer on my tank and instead am focusing on chemical media(s) along with a large amount of chaeto in a high light/high flow refugium. I also do biweekly 50% water changes.
We'll see how things go.

Purigen is a better product in my opinion. I just incorporated it into my system. One of the huge advantages with Purigen is that it darkens when it is exausted and can easily be "recharged" by soaking it for 24 hours in a 1:1 ratio of water and bleach.
If you put a surface skimmer over the intake for the filter, it should allow you to control the water level inside the filter which should allow to to keep it a little quieter.
Jesse
He is going to have a hang-on-tank version as well Erik.
The cool thing with this skimmer is it still allows you to completely close the lid on the nanocube and there is virtually no microbubbles.
Jesse
Just wanted to share this seems how there are so many people here with nanocubes.

Seems like a good product and should work pretty well.

I have a 150 watter on a 20L which is only 12" deep... the 18T should be at least 17" or so deep. It should be good, just keep the lower light stuff on the bottom.
