Lol thanks Cris. I am in the process of gluing things where I want them. I dont know if I can make that drive. I could do like one day... maybe that Friday. How about this... you can borrow my ATO. How much water will your tank lose in that time? I have a 16g tank you can use as a...

I know! But I got him from a fellow reefer who had him for 3 years. Let me make this clear... I DONT SUPPORT THE PURCHASING OF WILD-CAUGHT FISH WHEN AQUACULTERED FISHIES ARE AVAILABLE!! Unless it is from someone else's tank! :p The lectures were alright. I didnt listen to any of them all...

Ceramic rings - Do they really increase nitrates??

The ceramic rings (and other media like bioballs and other forms of biological media, as well as mechanical medias such as filter socks and floss) lack an anaerobic area that allows for a complete nitrogen cycle. What does this mean? They are able to break the ammonia down to nitrites...

Marine Aquarium Expo is almost here!

Thats a bummer that you wont be able to make it. It sounds like you have a good reason to though. Good luck with the cabin. I think I will be going on Sunday Cris so Ill try to take some mental notes on Melev's sump presentation. Jesse

    airstone

As I posted in your other thread, you really dont need the airstone at all. Just use a powerhead to cause some agitation of the surface. What kind of tank is this... an all-in-one or what? Jesse

want to get rid of airstone

I think that if you have some agitation on the surface of the water you should be good. Running a tank topless with a powerhead creating some surface agitation is fine for most people. There are pH buffer though that may help if your pH is off... be careful with that stuff though. Remember...

    Caulerpa

Keep an eye on it though as it can come right back. Jesse BTW, I have heard that it is best to boil it first to kill it if you plan to flush it. Or just throw it in the trash can.

    AUTO TOP OFF DEVICES

Try to find a used JBJ ATO. If that is too expensive, go for something like this... http://www.aquahub.com/store/product26.html I personally use the JBJ ATO but I found it used for $50. I love it and it is worth the money. All you need is a pump like an MJ or AquaLifter and it plugs right...

    removing powerhead from nano cube

It should just be suction cupped in. It may just need to be taken apart and cleaned. If that doesn't work you may just want to replace it with a comparable maxi jet pump. Hope that helps. Jesse
