    12 and 24 nanos

Blau your tank looks good. Those yellow polyps will spread like wildfire. Are you referring to the branching type coral or the bubble coral? Is it hard? It looks like a leather of some sort. Jesse

    Jesse's 12g AP w/70 watt Sunpod

So Cris and I headed to Reefapalooza today. Overall it was pretty cool. Lots of corals for sale. We both picked up a couple nice pieces. I got some Darth Maul palys and we went in on a small frag of Candy Apple Redds... Jesse

any tips for switching to a new tank...

I think the most important thing would be to make sure the LR is exposed to the air as little as possible to avoid die-off/cycle. Rinse the sand really well *unless* it is the sand that is bagged in water. The water has little bacteria in it however the more water you use from your old tank...

    My 3 gallon :)

How are you attempting to post them? The easiest way is to upload to a site like photobucket and copying/pasting the [img] address. Jesse

    rays and eels

No, a 9 gallon tank is not suitable for any eel or ray that I know of. There *may* be some sort of ribbon eel or something but definitely no rays. Jesse

    Rowaphos - Phosphate Remover

I would just give it some time. The brown algae sounds like diatoms and should pass as the tank matures. Jesse

    Rowaphos - Phosphate Remover

You may have posted this somewhere already but how old is this tank? What color temperature is the PC light that you are running? Jesse

    Rowaphos - Phosphate Remover

Do you have a problem with phosphates? If so, I would suggest finding the source first. Medias like this can tend to be a cover for the actual problem. These medias do best in a phosphate reactor like the Two Little Fishies reactor I would probably go with the ROWAphos myself. Jesse

    Jesse's 12g AP w/70 watt Sunpod

Wow... I haven't posted in my thread in over a month. Not much to update. I picked up some new polyps yesterday though. Here is a picture of those... Oh I added a tiny brittle star. That's about it though. I want to try to do a water change and clean the glass tomorrow. Maybe I'll...

    Need advice for T5 lighting

IMO the 24 watters are kinda weak and you would probably want to run 4x24. This will allow you to have a better mix of lamps and also allow you to have your "daylights" and your actinics to be on at separate times. The most important thing is to have high quality individual reflectors. That...

    24G Aquapod Setup Today. Questions!!!

Re: More Questions for this newb Yeah... give it time. It is normal for a young tank. Get a magnet cleaner for the glass. You are going to have to clean the glass at least once a week even after the tank has matured. As far as the deaths, give it time before you add anything else...

    My 95gallon, Acrylic Tank

From one of my other posts... The main problem with ceramic rings... and most other biological media (*including bioballs*)excluding LR... is that it lacks the anaerobic region necessary for completing the nitrogen cycle. Without that anaerobic area, nitrates cannot be turned into nitrogen...
