Great fish!
I looked at one today at the lfs. They wanted $22.99 for him. He came in yesterday but his color wasn't nearly as bright as yours. Maybe he was scared; but, yours has nice color! I need something on the bottom like that. I'm going to trade in my firefish for a bottom dweller. I trade my fish in all the time. I'm terrible. I believe in catch and release (dumb joke). I like to study and read about them and then try something new. The two I won't trade are my clown goby and my fire shrimp. I was going to buy a rainford goby (I like little guys) but he jumped out onto the floor when netted. Much disappointment. Only one I ever seen. Great little reef fish.

I in herited a 12 G Nano (not DX; 24 watts only) about a month ago (already cycled) and have been revamping it; came with a Damsel and starfish + some limpets. I added a couple more pcs live rock, blue legged crabs, red-booted shrimp, brittle star, and green-striped mushroom coral so far. Was thinking of adding a purple firefish & maybe a goby (watchman or clown goby). Why didn't you like your firefish?
I have decided I want tiny fish because I am going to start adding a lot of corals. Keep waste products to a minimum. A firefish is actualy pretty long and big in a 12 nano. I put a hold on a sun coral today at the lfs. You have to target feed them and I don't want fish competing with what I really want...corals. The firefish was really great. He would hang out behind the reef. He would never be late for eating. Same time, three times a day. He would stay out in the open from about 1:30 pm until 8:00pm when he would go to bed behind the reef. He colored up nice w/formula one and frozen shrimp. They have an interesting shape. Never had a jumping problem but he would dive under the rock when scared. Gee, I'm gonna miss the little fellow.
