Wierd Purple stuff on LR

Hello Nano Gang,
My tank is still going through it's cycling, but I started noticing this really cool looking purple stuff on my LR. We're not sure if it's corlline (I think that is how it's spelt) or not since this in our first tank. Below are some pics I got with my digital camera (sorry, camera sucks). I'm hoping for some help in IDing what this might be. And if there is something I should be doing about it.

Thx Gang,
Jay

If it helps any, these purple/blue things look silky.... and can be removed easily (I poked at one earlier to see if it was something hard or not).

sponges

Jesse,
I was thinking sponges also, but they seem to be all over different pieces of my LR. Is it possible that Sponges can spread like that?

Can you see an opening at one end?
Jennie,
it's a little hard to tell right now, but I'd have to say, they generally don't have openings for the exception of a few. What would be the significance of an opening or not having one?

Normally with sponges you can see an opening where they filter water in and out. Sponges come in all colors, shapes and sizes.

I'm hoping that's what it is and not something horrific.... It will be interesting is see what they look like once they grow.

I'll keep everyone posted with pics once the growth starts to happen.

I had sponges on my mind too, they can grow all over the place and do not have to be connected together.

I have been keeping my eye on the PURPLE stuff that is growing on our LR. I'm beginning to think that PURPLE things aren't sponges. They seem to be growing were there are dips or holding in the LR. The biggest PURPLE patch is trying to cover up a large sized hole/dip in the LR and it looks webish. Further more, I'm beginning to think that the spots that do have a little hole on them are just by coincidence. I poked and rubbed out one of the patches and they don't seem to be hard, it's just a thin silky film. Any other thoughts as to what it may be?
Attached is a pic (I did my best, but camera sucks) of the largest spot that looks webish.
I'm taking a sample of my water to my LFS and if my cycle is done, should a get a clean up crew in there... and maybe they will take care of it?
