How about 'other'? I found a TetraTest kit that one of my old roommates bought in college. Plus some misc testing solutions for nitrite/nitrate

I went searching for the thread about which test kit is best. But I couldn't find it. I'm using a test kit that's several years old and is the Tetra Test brand. Is this good enough or should I go buy a brand new kit?

Oh yeah, I wouldn't trust a test kit that is that old either. Just spend the $50 and get a good batch of test kits.

lamotte is supposed to have some of the best kits, but they only have kits for a few tests - alk, calcium and nitrate i think.

Marine Depot has the full Lamotte test kit line. They are a little pricey, but very high quality. I've been getting into using colorimeters lately. Much faster than regular test kits. My buddy who works at the water treatment plant turned me on to these. When I get the money, I gotta have one of those!

I'm a salifert user. Phishy, throw the old test kits out and buy some new ones. You own't get accurate results from the old kits.
