Which is more useful?

I'm considering buying either a refractometer or a pinpoint pH monitor. Which would you consider to be more useful?

and don't say both b/c the cash flow will not allow for both at this time.

You can also use the refractometer to determine the alcohol content of homebrew beer. I vote for it because it is dual purpose.

Sounds good so far...anyone else?

Man, don't get me into to homebrewing Phischy. I've got enough addictions, I mean hobbies, going on

Beer is good for you. On Monday I botteled my Amber Ale, it'll be ready just after I move into my new place next weekend.

Beer is Alot cheaper than aquariums. $300 in equipment (no kegging) and $30/batch of brew. About a month start to finish and you're sippin' your own cold one. Next up is a stout so it can age and be ready for the fall, then a honey lager for the summertime.

And at some point I'll add fishes to the living room so I can relax with my own cold one and just drift off to sleep staring at my aquarium.

You know, I'm not sure how this stuff would travel being shipped. Several people have asked me about that. I may be coming to TX later this summer and if I do I'll make sure ya'll are back. Next few batches I'll be botteling in champaign bottles, they're green and not ideal but larger volume. If I do come to TX I'll bring some with me to share, it's amazing how fast 5gallons of beer goes!
