When is it time to replace a DE MH bulb?

How do you know it's time to replace a DE MH bulb; I have two 150 watt 20K bulbs and have had them for over 1 year.

They still fire up and my corals appear okay, does anyone have any feedback?

Thanks

Mike,

I read its good to replace them any where from 8-12 months. Pending on what your keeping... 8 months if there are SPS and 12 if there are softies... so I'd say 10 months if you have both...

there was a good article in reefkeeping mag on this topic - the auther discovered that most of the fall off is very quick and then the bulbs become quite stable for a long time. short version - there is very little dif in intensity between 6months and 12 months - kinda interesting when someone actually tests a generally excepted "truth" in reef mythology and finds it to be false. his tests lead me to believe we can even go longer then the 12 month norm

read it yourself - you may interprete his findings a bit dif
