I've got some of these and they've never really taken off. . . Weird, my GSP did, but my BSP (like the above) = nothing...

djconn,

When you say strong flow, what do you mean by that? Like the polyps are side ways headed in that constant direction, or just rocking back and fourth? I had a strong current on my rock but it seemed as if it were to strong. So now they move in slow motion since the powerhead is directed in the opposite direction. Plus the growth rate like Aquai said.... nothing. I had mine all over a 10-12 pound rock and its still the same. Sorry to cut in Gilraen...

no problem islandcreation, I'm looking forward to that answer. I don't think I have a strong flow on it, I guess I better get that fix.

Direct flow isnt really beneficial for any kind of coral. Intead, try to get a random flow using things like Hydor's, SCWDs, or PowerSweeps. The corals benefit much more from this sort of multi-directional, random flow.

Gilraen, how many gallons is your tank and how many GPH are moving through your tank?

reefman23, I have a 12gal deluxe nano with the original pump it came with (105 gph), I placed the polyps on the sand bed on the opposite side of the outflow and it seems to be happy, there's a lot of H2O movement on that side. I have a maxi-jet 1200 I used for awhile but my clown was strugling with the current way to much... :anxious poor little guy, so I went with the original stuff.

I just meant nice 'rocking back and forth flow' for this coral to flourish. I had some GSP and BSP on the bottom of my tank with little flow (& little growth) but then put them closer to flow & powerheads and they just took off. I eventually had so much GSP that I sold it off and got some good store credit at my LFS. It is also one of the easiest corals to frag out and ships very well. Just my 2 cents...
