hey incysor, I'm very interested in hearing more about your "typical party" for New Years!! Where was it and how many people showed up? Do you have any pics? I saw the pic in the lounge of you spinning fire, how long have you been doing that and where do you do it?
Karita,
Sorry I missed this earlier.
NYE was pretty laid back. We only had 10-15ppl from 9pm up until about 11pm, then another 20-30ppl showed. I rarely take pics at the parties. We've got a friend that loves to do that, and she's got a natural 'eye' for it that I just don't have. I started firespinning about 5yrs ago after seeing it for the first time at Burning Man. If you haven't heard about the Burning Man festival, you can go to
www.burningman.com for more info. It's basically a week long huge party with 30,000-40,000 people, doing art, music, just tons of stuff really. There isn't any vending or selling of any kind at the event, and it's held on salt flats in northern-central Nevada.
There's a smaller 5 day regional event in dripping springs just outside of Austin as well called Flipside.
I any of you would like to see more firespinning pics, PM me I've got some, but I don't want to put the address up on a public board. I've got a friend that hosts basically a huge photo archive for several groups of friends and I don't want his bandwidth to go crazy cause I've got 500ppl trying to look at the pics at once.
