Hi Guys,

What additives do you guys use in your nano tank? What are the best brands to use? Are there any to stay away from?

Thanks,

Eric

JMO, i have used a bunch of additives in the past, but didnt see any affects until i started to do weekly water changes with topic marine reef salt. the only thing i have to suppliment every once in a while is calcium, which i have been using seachem. weekly water changes if you have a nano tank, if you have a larger system, it varies.

yep.......it depends, some weeks my water change keep the calcium up and others its alittle low. after the WC i test and whatever is says on the back to raise it to thew level i want is how much i use. unless you SPS corals you shouldnt really need to suppliment calcium.

One more question, How about the PH is it better for coral to rase it to 8.3? I used a PH buster on my old tanks. Is that a good idea? Or is it ok at 8.2?

Thanks,

Eric

you can use a pH buffer. i dont anymore, when i let my freshly mixed water sit for a day or so the pH raises up to 8.2. there must be something in my salt mix that does it, not sure though.
