water change help

Hello, I currently have a .75 gal pico. I would like to know how much salt per cup of water would equal a salinity of 1.025??

I have just recently put the saltwater hobby aside but kept my pico going so I have been in this hobby for 4 years and use to the water changes I had to make on my previous tank.

Well for my salt 1/2 a cup of salt covers a gallon. so lets see....carry the one.....switch the symbols... and divide by my 3rd grade wall locker combination and I get .... 1/32nd of a cup of salt for a cup of water. Or more readily recognized as 1/2 tablespoon of salt per cup of RO/DI water. Assuming your salt is the same as mine and uses 1/2 cup per gallon. :lol:

Thank you Tim for the calculations. The salt I use is Instant Ocean

That does vary from brand to brand. 1/2 is the general rule of thumb though. Good job on the math Tim!
