The purple coraline means your tank has matured and healthy, but once it grips your entire circumference of your tank it will become a problem.

How will you view it?

hi mike nice to see your new reefs man I've seen your stuff for years now glad to have you in my thread!

The total purple out has happened tri-monthly for the last 4 years, its annoying lemme tell ya lol

I scrape it with a razor and a coat hanger it takes hours and it bites but Im thankful for the problem if ya know what I mean...

Wow,

Brandon thanks for sharing the cleaning process on your unique shaped pico, it brings a new flavor to purple flower vases.. :)

With all that macro algae that you are scapping, I wonder if you would be able to transfer that over to a noobs tank for some serious jump start on macro...

Don't know if it dies or what? Would have to do a test...

Nanotank seems so dead since coming back, where is everyone?

I have sold the macro back for store credit a few times not for much $$ tho

now the pulsing xenia that's another story. I really should be taking time to at least try tying them to a rock so I could sell back for ten dollars credit per frag, he'll do em for $25 afterwards. I give my word I have flushed over 5 lbs of wet xenia cuts from this tank in 2008 alone.

Since it's so motile, anytime you place a xenia in a vase setup lit from above like this they will walk on the glass 100% of the time to get to the brightest point. I have owned 4 different vase reefs over the years and all of them had the xenia walk into the upper curve within a month, strange slimy migration but an amazing animal!

Nowadays I still like it for the motion, but it's a weed and I cut out a large chunk every two weeks which could mean very nice production were i not so lazy and just flush em
