ok havnt seen any info on this, I have a zebra turbo snail and since yesturday he wants to be flipped over. I have corrected him multiple times and moved him to rocks and on sand he just keeps flipping. Right now i have wedged him on his front and side at a 45 degree angle and he hasnt come out (when i say wedged i mean in sand so he cant flip), anyone have any ideas?

Unfortunetly Turbo and Astrea snails are snails that cant right themselves a lot, if they fall they usually will need help or they die. In nature then tend to hang out on flatter surfaces so they never really developed a righting mechenism.

Trochus, Nerite, Cerith and Nassarius will all right themselves if they flip over and all perform a cleaning function in the tank.

Nassarius being the exception to algea eating. They will burrow and turn the substate.

Trochus is probably the closest thing to a turbo/astrea.

Hmm, I doubt he "really" wants to do that. What's your SG and parameters? Snails and inverts are the most sensitive to changes and water quality issues. Sometimes low calcium and magnesium levels can cause odd/fatal snail incidents??

I agree with Drnsee. I have stopped buying astreas and turbos for this very reason. (my crabs tend to pull the snails down fighting for the shells and almost always win)

I think my turbos would yell "bring it" and eat my hermits. But my hermits are the no-violent sort... the cortez ones or whatever and my turbos are HUGE.
I think ur snail is dying.

LOL I have my hermits that are left over from my 90 gallon. So it's the toughest of the tough and the big ones. They are blue leg hermits and zebra hermits and three or four of them are about the size of golf balls...
