anybody use the Tunze Nano Reef Pack 200 skimmer and filter combo? and if so do you recommend it? i would like to set up a 20 gal long without a sump and would like to know is this enough filtration, the tank would be a softy and LPS tank (NOT SPS). will the Tunze Nano work well or should i use other equipment? and if so what?

IMO, skimmers aren't really needed in nano tanks if you keep up with water changes. I normally pull my water off of the top so it takes off any surface skim. I just took a look at the price on that $547... I used a Magnum HOT filter on my old 20g tank and ran mostly carbon in it. I find that these filters do a pretty good job if you keep up with changing the medium often (~2-3 weeks).

Those tunze nano skimmers rock.... very good skimmers. Im not familiar with the filter that comes with it, but I would imagine it is good. You can also use a regulr HOB power filter too to run carbon etc. Dont forget about powerheads for water movement too.

The only concern I would have is I believe it is an internal filter/skimmer, so that will take up space which is a scarce commodity in nanos. But with 20 gals that may not be too much of a problem.
