hi all,

thought the best way to introduce myself was through photos of my little slice of reef. this tank was started in august/september 2008 and the photos range from then through to a week or two ago.

hope you enjoy!

and just some growth pics of a dallas green sps frag over the space of 1 month under 2 x T5HO (one actinic, one 20000K)

these photos are taken over a 6 month period where the tank became more stable.

but a western australian carpet blenny and 4 trochus snails certainly helped

*writing things down*

WA...carpet...blenny....

I'll have to get some more trochus snails, my other carked it a while back sadly. The only ones I can get ahold of though are at Neilsen's Marine Mates near the Hyperdome (in queensland) and quite frankly they're huge. Like, really. So big that they have coralaceous algae on their shells and they resemble moving bits of rock.

Oh snap really?! I go to both of those places all the time hahahaha! Just bought a white-tip jardinei from pet city, and an ancora and zoa frag from neilsen's. I originally got my trochus snails from pet city but they are out of all of them at the moment.

I'm in awe of the green brittle that Neilsen's have in their middle coral tank. Thing's evil looking :p

45cm x 23cm x 23cm

or

18in x 9in x 9in

its a whole 28L with just water in it... so i'd imagine it would be only around 20L or so...

I'll be in Noosa, have to be during the next week as I'm in Melbourne the next weekend. Or if it's not bothering your tank, you can just grow it a bit more for me!

the first 5 FTS are with two 10000K and then the next ones are with one actinic and one 20000K

i feel that the bluer lighting promotes a greater growth of SPS

well i dropped into see heath at qld coral creations today to kill some time and have a chat... ended up walking out with a ric(s).

heath had a quite nice fluro pink and green ric there for an awesome price, so i figured why not see what all the rage is about.

now sitting in my tank and what i thought was one ric, has turned out to be four (that i have counted so far). the main one and 3 baby ones.

absolutely stoked with this impulse purchase and big thanks to heath, always great to talk to and customer service second to none.

here is a poor photo of the baby rics and a good pic of the main ric
