Hmm... flatworm... considered bad. Relatively easy to treat though... how many are there? Is it like a infestation or just a couple here and there? If you have an infestation, you should seek some form of treatment.
1) you can continually manually remove then with a syhon using ailine tubing or something similar. Also a Velvet Nudibranch will most likly eat them, but they the numbers dwindle the nudi will starve to death.
or
2)Chemical warfare!! :evil: A product called Flatworm Exit should do the trick (FWE). Be careful using it and try to remove AS MANY WORMS as possible before treating. The more worms there are in the tank, the more toxin that will be released my the worms when they die.

That helps ALOT Jesse. I removed the piece of coral that had the majority of flatworms and squirted it several times with a turkey baster. That got a lot of the worms out of my tank. I then spent some time suctioning up the stragglers that got left behind. It looks much better already. I'll try to do w/o the FWE for now. Thanks for the prompt reply.
you're right. I find one or two on the glass every now and then. I'll look into FWE. Since I don't have too many left, I guess FWE would be pretty safe.djconn said:
Removing the infested coral and rinsing it off did make a big difference. I'm new so had I known what they were I would have treated the coral before I placed it into my tank. Live and learn.

I second the FLATWORM EXIT. It works very well and within in minutes after treating/dosing, you will see them lift off the rocks.
Just wanted to update my original post. My LFS recommended a Scooter Blenny as a natural method of dealing with flatworms. I bought one and noticed that 24 hours later he has already started picking off the flatworms from the liverock. Kind of cool to see.
I have seen many posts recommending the velvet nudibranch to deal with flatworms but not too many that mention the Scooter Blenny so I thought I would post. thanks for all the help with the ID.
