well got it going sat (1/16/05) night want to say thanks to RB (at http://www.saltcreep.com)for your closed loop idea by moding it I was able to make this work.
Tank specs: 1gal "burbon glass" tank, 18w PC (coralife 2 x 9 W ,1- 10,000k & 1- actinic ) closed loop with heater chamber (see diy closed loop w/ heater chamber (pico size),auto top off system.
right now I just threw some frags, and small chunks of LR that I had layin in my 10 gal into this tank. I go the sand from a LFS out of a established system.
the first two pics are of how it looks the 3rd pic is with flash so you can get a better idea of the layout, and the 4th is the closed loop w/heater system (for those who have not seen it yet)

wow what a nicely thought out system. Very unique, what else do you plan on putting in there in the future?

Amazing. You get the 'most unique' award in my book. Well thought out too I might add.

Can we get a pic of the whole thing or the box that was created to mount the lights on? Thanks.

How are you going to take care of the algae that inevitably shows up on the glass? I've often wondered about the long term results of these tiny sytems. Absolutely amazing stuff! Great job!

glad you all like it. don't have any specific corals that I want to put in this tank just what ever I get small enlugh to put in . When I started to put this together I wanted a truly "ONE OF A KIND" thing and with the "tank", and the closed loop w/ heater chamber system I think I have gotten what I wanted, something that nobody else has (yet LOL). to keep the glass clean going to do the same I do with the 10 I have this little mag cleaner that I bought from a guy at NR.com a while back, I tried it and it works in this tank also. here are a couple of pics of my two tanks together. the first is with flash so you can see the stand (I hate flash pics they wash everythin out ) the third is just one that I took this morning. the pics I posted before were still a little cloudy.

This would probably work....There's been multiple threads raving about them on nano-reef.com, and he finally put up a website.

Didn't know that existed. Very cool. I found this type of magnet cleaner at my local reef store and have it in this small size and a larger ne for the cube. the inside piece is only 1/4" too. I love the thin profile - very slim and gets into places the magfloat can't go.

Great pics of both tanks...do we call that bourbon glass a tank? hehe.

hey guys

I like that mini magnet scrubber, does it float too if it comes undone?? I read up on it and it didn't say. I need one for the pico I got, everything I have now is too big to scrub with...

The nimbles do NOT float. Part of the reason they're so thin is that the guy sacrificed the air bubble needed to make it float for the thinner profile.
