Tank observations after being alone for a month

While I was on vacation in Cental America, my father was assigned the important task of taking care of my tanks. He basically did all the routine stuff like topoffs, algae scraping, feeding and came over every 4-5 days. He did an excellent job during my month long trip and I think its interesting to share a few differences I noticed in the tanks when I got back.

First, one of my big green hairy mushrooms split after being in the tank for about 2 years. A big blue leg hermit apparently killed my fighing conch and is in his huge shell now. My RBTA wilted away to nothing and my guess is that it had a bad experience with the powerhead (that was my only casualty). My xenia frag grew about 10 times bigger for unknown reasons. There unfortunately was also a grape caulpera outbreak which I discussed in another post which will need to be dealt with soon. Both my 5.5 and 2.5 pod populations have seemed to have tripled.

So all in all, nothing tragic happened except the loss of my RBTA. I feel a lot more comfortable now knowing I can leave for over a month and things will be okay when I get back.
