I recently learned the hard truth about Ich in saltwater tanks. It is ruthless! It took the lives of all three of my fish in just over two and a half days. I have read different things about the wait time before I can reintroduce fish into my tank. Some say a week some say three months. I turned up the temperature two degree to help speed up the parasite's life cycle. Any thoughts? Thanks!

4 weeks sounds like a happy medium. I was told that Ich is a common parasite in saltwater tanks and it only presents itself when fish are stressed or already plagued by an existing condition. If this is true, why would one have to wait to add fish after an Ich attack? I don't want to sound smug, just curious.

there is some good advice in this thread and to top it i havent had ich since. i supliment garlic with my food every other time i feed. plus its a natural stimulant for feeding, all my fish love it.
