so I imagine that the jbj lights last a year then? being they specialize in lighting?

They're no different from any other PC bulb. If you're keeping things that are low light, you'll probably be fine for a full year. If you are trying to keep things that have higher light needs, then you'll still need to change them out every 6-7 months.

I agree with Brian,,, about the need to change 6 months,,, if you have like a clam,,, or ohter high output coral...
