Hi,

Noticed couple of stuff on my Live rock on my new tank, curious what it is.
The first one is hard white transparent tiub seem to be growing out of the live rock. It broke off into dust when I touched it.

Second, a yellow thing on a live rock.
It is a sponge? It been exposed to air and freshwater. Should I remove it ? Sorry, could not get a nice quality on this one.

Another found is a crab/hermit ? eating the yellow thing, can't get a clear picture of it yet. It have hairy legs from what i can see...

Thanks for your time!

given the quality of the pics, about the only thing I can say is hairy legs=gorilla crab=not reef safe. if it has beady red eyes and sharp pointed claws, get it out if you can. some people make crab kebab out of em, others use a small glass @ a 45* angle with some food at the bottom for bait

polyp, mushroom, sponge.......could be anything. hard to tell until it gets bigger. i would leave it unless it starts to spread rapidly.

Thanks for the head up.
The yellow thingy seem to like blue lights...still waiting for something to happen on that.

I finally caught the crab after breaking my one of the live rock apart....
