Sticking Live Rock To Back Wall?

Ok, i've got quite a deep tank, and basically there's a larger percentage of back wall where i'd like to try and secure some live rock or maybe corals... Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of how i could go about doing this? I can probably make the wall dry temporarily if need be, (bt not for more that say 45mins as the fish will remain in the lower tank...

you could try a silicone or epoxy to attach it or better yet some egg crate cut to size and make shelfs to hold the live rock this would cover in time with corals and placements

The thing is, will the silicon hold it is my fear, plus how long does it take to dry...

Hmm, egg crate, im not sure we have an equivalent of that here...

Good ideas though... Although i'd rather it was completely concealed

I've seen setups with live rock attached along the back wall completely with some type of resin. I read it on Reef Central, but since I can never use the search feature good luck on finding that article... really wish I could remember what that stuff was. But I do remember that the stuff had to cure and be rinsed once or twice so it doesn't sound like it would work for you. Silicon will dry in about an hour or so and cure after 24 hours so if your fish can swing a day of low water you should be fine. Not sure how heavy an item you want stuck to back wall. Maybe make little shelves out of plexiglass and then put frags on those? Should be clear enough to not look tacky. HTH

Well, i was looking to put some corals on there and possibly a clam....

Silicon just doesn't seem like it would be strong enough to hold any significant weight, seems like it would almost flex...

That is a nice seyup

Thing is gonna be doing that without disturbing what's already in my tank, perhaps this will have to wait till my upgrade (Which i've started saving for btw :D, should have the tank in two months, then equipment the month after)

another easier solution is too take about five pieces ( of course size weight ????whatever more or less) stack them kinda like a pyrimid and then drill 1/2 inch holes in such a way that you can use pvc pipe to hold them together by pushing it in like a dowel..........
