Something new

I noticed that there is something new that poped up on a piece of my live rock a few days ago. I'll have a picture this weekend, but I'll try and discribe it now. It's a burgandy color about the size of a dime. It looks like a few 'bubbles' are coming out of the center. the 'bubbles' aren't a solid color, but more like a tinted clear burgandy (for lack of a better discription). Now that I think about it, I should have checked with and without the lights to see if it changed shapes or anything but didn't think about it, sorry. Any ideas?

Its really hard to ID without a pic. I'm thinking maybe some kind of macro algae or something like dollarz said??

reefcentral.com is a pretty good site...without pics I doubt anyone is going to be able to help you any more than we have :?

Sorry, guess I didn't phrase that right. What I meant was if there was a site that I might be able to research varias algeas, or even better if there are any sites that have pictures listed.

Jennie, did you try taking it from farther away (where your camera can focus on it) and then cropping it on your computer? That is what I usually do and can focus fairly well on small stuff.

How many clowns you have in your tank? From what I can tell, looks like eggs......but it is very blurry and I really cannot tell.

Im sorry about the quality of the photos, but no they are not eggs, the two clowns were just introduced this past week.

Ok, after turning the rock around and getting a clearer picture, I think you're right on the bubble aglae guess. Any feedback would be appriciated.

Jennie, good job with the pics. They helped a lot. What you're trying to identify looks a whole lot like this algae that started growing in my tank and came in as a hitchhiker as well. Its grown considerabily and I really like it. I've got people asking me for small frags. I think it just some sort of red algae. It started really small like yours.

You know that's odd that you posted that picture. I was looking at the tank this morning and noticed (what I think) is more of this stuff growing. This week the tank has went through an algae bloom so it looks bad, but when I got to looking closer I thought that I saw more only tinier. Of course I cuold be wrong altogether. Anyway back to what I was saying, These new growths aren't looking round like the picture I posted, but more longated. When I pictured what it would look like grown out, I pictured exactly what you posted.
