Some type of worm

I just found this guy sneaking a peek out of one of the crevices in my rock today when i came home from school. I think it's some type of worm... it reminds me of those old radio antennas that you can extend, because as I was watching it, the bands in its body did not move, meaning the worm was not moving, yet it looked like it was getting longer. At first i thought it was crawling out of the hole, but it seemed it merely was elongating itself. Anyone know what it is? Should i try to catch it and get rid of it?

Yes they are good. Peanut worms, small bristleworms, spaghetti worms, etc. are all good for you tank. Big bristleworms are kinda controversial, experts don't say anything bad about them that I have read but most reefers don't trust the really big ones.

one bit the end of my seastar's leg off!!!!! (and bit me when i tried to move him away!!!!)....not one of the orange ones...he was more millipede shaped, and brownish/oil slick colour...with pincer-like jaws....still a bristle-type worm when i looked him up....but evil.....
in the end i baited him through some aquarium snips ...which he tried to pull off me at first, then decided they were no threat, and went through them to take the bait......hehe....his fatal error
