here's one of my yellow/gold goby chillin' on the open brain. I had this cool shot of my blue and yellow together, but they moved before I could get a clear shot. Enjoy this for now.

Thanks, I threw that out to see how old I can possibly be, I was shooting for 1000 or something, but it kept saying I couldn't be that old, haha. 98 stuck though. For those who care, I'm actually 25, :)

good question...I imagine they have a good life span on them like most fish. some that I have seen at the fish shop look a little longer and fatter, so I guess I can expect to see that in these fish, in the future to come

Dragon,

I love your fish, they have so much personality. And as long as you keep on your water changes your fish will do great, not to mention you have added security with your back filtration being live rubble. It adds so many more nitrifying bacteria...

Beautiful shot Dragon. I'm kinda stuck right now. My camera lens stopped working last weekend. It's under warranty, but it's taken a week just to get the ok from the warranty company for me to get estimates on getting it repaired. I don't know how long I'm gonna be without, but it's irritating the hell out of me.

I guess I'll have to entertain you with my shots for the time being.

I'll have to do a pic of the week like you, ha ha.

I would like to know more on goby life in captivity. I learned that the catalina goby has a short life span in captivity, that said I remember mine use to die every 5 to 6 months.

I use to love that goby becuase of there colors....

is that so? I can't imagine mine dying so quickly....especially for the pig eater he is, unless he dies of a heart attack, lol. If he dies in the future months, I'll end up getting another anemone shrimp since it killed my last female anemone shrimp I had before. I can also use a few more sexys, got to love them sexy's.

Catalinas only die quickly because they're cold-water fish. If you chilled your tank down to the low-mid 60s, they'd probably live as long as any other fish that's available in the hobby.

I love these guys and I've tried them a couple different times. But the coldest I was able to keep my tanks was about 73. I've resigned myself to not keeping them again unless I can find a cheap chiller that will get a small tank down to that temp range. In Houston a tank that cold has issues with forming condensation on the glass, and I haven't figured out exactly how to fix that yet.
