The lighting sounds good, The filtration is cheasy and there is now ablilty to run a skimmer. The tank is just SO narrow.... seems awkward.

They sound like a gimmick tank to me. I don't think they would make a very good reef due to the front to back depth. Aquascaping would be a nightmare. I think that the Nanocubes and AquaPods would be a better choice than these, or you could start out with a plain tank and add equipment and build your own which is even better.

THIS IS THE WAY TO GO!!!! I bought an Aquapod, and still have it, but starting with a bare tank, you have soooooooo many more options!

I haved both a NanoCube 6 and 12 DX and actually like my 10 AGA with the 96 watt powerquad the best so I have to agree with you. For what the cubes and other all in one tanks are they have their place but you do have almost limitless options when you start with a plain tank.

Ok i see everyone is very skeptical here. I personally think these tanks can be very cool and nobody makes anything like them. Nanocubes are cool too but you cant hang them on a wall can you?

sure you can, it would just take some modding skills, imagination and some screws, and lots of time and patience. :scratchchin: hmmm.....maybe I'll try getting my aquapod mounted on a wall.....

and if you are a descent DIY'er you might be able to build your own for less than $900

I find that doing DIY projects allows me to spend more time related to my favorite hobby. I can spend hours just planning a DIY project.

I love planning projects as well. Like for this hanging a tank on the wall I think actually cutting the dry wall out and placing the tanks flush with the wall is the way to go. Of course this assumes you have a room behind that wall to house the tank and cords and allow you to maintain the tank. I plan on having a fish room in my dream house. Just gotta save enough to get a house built to our plans. But as far as this picture frame tank goes I love the idea, looks like a great FOWLR tank. A couple gobies and maybe a shrimp or two. A bit expensive for what you get if you ask me though.

Just imagine tank maintainance on something like that. Heating, cooling, water changes. Also...think about the weight....you better secure it well cause if it falls, it's all over for everything inside and probably the tank itself. It looks cool but more $ and work than it's worth IMHO.
