So what are your hobbies other than nano tanks?

Does anybody have a life outside of nano-reefing? I mean, obviously I dont as I am typing this at 11:30 on Sunday night while my wife is asleep and I am the only person logged on to nanotank.com and I am researching a bunch of things to waste my money on for my tank and have 3 windows open with ALL reefing sites and I can't seem to walk away from this computer because I might miss a new thread somewhere or miss out on that one awesome deal on an RO/Di unit... blah

:blah :confused3: :diz: :grazy: :alco:

So anyways.... any other hobbies out there? Things you love to do in your spare time?

I've been working on a ham radio license for awhile now. I bought the books last summer and planned on taking the tests in the fall. Only problem is that the tank came and i spent my money on that instead of a new radio. Go figure...lol I still enjoy listening to the area police on my scanner, but I will get that license before long.

Same here... love the outdoors. I have done a couple 1-week backpacking trips through the backcounty of Yosemite. It is soo beautiful. When I was at my peak shape right out of high school (four years cross country and track) I really wanted to summit Mt Whitney... never happened.

Thanks for sharing guys!

I just sold off everything that purtained to all my other hobbies. My wife allowed me to keep my tanks, but we're having a baby so I guess for another 4 weeks or so that is my hobby, my pregnant wife. Then after that I guess it's gonna be figuring out how to be the best dad I can be. I thought it would be more painful to have to get rid of all my toys, but it'll be worth it. I'm pretty stoked.

Tell me about it. I couldn't believe that people do that kind of thing. I just show'd my wife and she was pretty freaked out by it. Amazing world.

Looks like it produces lots of meaty scraps to feed your piranhas though
Scarification is still pretty common in parts of Africa, usually in the form of parallel lines on the cheeks. I think it indicates tribal affiliation and possibly rank or status in the group. Not much different to the until recent German practice of collecting harmless but painful saber scars on your face and skull to prove your manhood.

Ouch... I don't think I could ever do anything like that!!
It looks cool after it's all healed up.... but I'm sure that person was in pain for a super long time!! I don't know about you guys/gals, but doing something like that to my back would totally destroy the way I sleep, drive and go about doing other things from day to day.

As for hobbies of my own, I just took up scuba diving, and I also like to travel the globe. Next stop, South Africa to go on safari and live with with tribes people for a few days (I'll be sure to stay with a tribe that let's me keep all my flesh).

I brew beer, I just upgraded to a 2 tapper kegerator and I have 7 5gal kegs so it's a very tasty hobby! I need to get my 3rd tap operational but I'm debating on upgrading some fish hardware first.

I also used to mtn bike but I blew a disk and I also used to train in Aikido 6 days a week, but the broken disk and put an end to all that.

So only other hobbies are exercise that I can do, but those don't suck the money like beer 'n fish.
