So so picture of my 12 gallon

Right now I have 1 false perc, 2 blue leg hermits, 1 strombus snail. 1 queen conch, peach polyps (not pictured) loads of mushroom, and 1 tree coral. I think that I have a ball sponge too.

nice! Looks like you've started getting some decent coraline growth on the back. Is that macro up on top of the rock?

not macro. They are peach polyps. I have since moved them farther awawy from the rocks as the green algae were taking over. Its still bad.

Are you using black sand? It looks like it in the pic. I tried it in a small 10g tank at one point. I liked it for a bit, but as stuff dropped on it from the LR, it started looking more salt/pepper, and I didn't like it as much anymore. When I moved I scrapped the tank altogether.

I bought all my stuff from Tropical fish depot when JJ was there. Thats what he gave me for live sand. I knew no better. Its kind of a mix of sand and rock. I don't like it. But I guess you can't really change it out can you?
