Snail Art?

I was a little shocked when I woke up this morning and noticed this crazy looking white stuff on the glass wall of our tank. Now I could be wrong but, I'm guessing there was some snail loving going on in the tank the night b4.... will there be a bunch more on the way?

Attached is a pic of a snail doing it's thing and leaving the white stuff on the glass.

I'm not sure what I should be doing about it... clean it off or leave it alone.

Advice would be great.

Yep... those are eggs! I'm not sure what happens to the eggs though...Ive never had that happen in my tank.

i would leave them, just to see what happens. i have never had those snails so i couldnt help any.

These snails have been BUSY! There are at least 3 other places in my tank that they've gone and done the same thing. I'll keep everyone posted with how thing turn out.

I'm not much of a picture taker, but I have been practicing, thanks for commenting Jesse. There was a skunk shrimp in the back ground of that pic, but it didn't seem to show up well. (Maybe next time)

I 4got to mention that these snails are called Cerith Snails.

They concentrate on the film algae at, or just below the surface of your sandbed.

yeah those are typical cerith eggs. Mine lay eggs about every 2 weeks so expect more of them. They usually are consumed pretty quickly in my tank so I haven't seen any baby snails yet. Hopefully you will have better experience raising them than I have.

I don't have any fish in the tank as of yet. We're just waiting for the tank to mature a little more b4 adding anything else to it. We do have 2 skunk shrimp, 3 sexy shrimp and a number of hermits in our aquarium.

Since the snail art was identified, I've gone ahead a started a new thread in the GENERAL area on the forum.

My cerith do that all of the time. When I had a ten quarantine set up, I had quite a few eggs that made it but there were also no predators in there. The shrimp alone will make a meal of them and their own (other thread you posted).
