I made a mistake of trusting a marine biologist and not reading enough

I brought home a small red fromia star fish and its nt doing so well, its starting to get wards at the base of its legs and I know now that it was too not enough aclimation (the guy who sold it gave me the instructions)

My tank parameters are good, all 0s

Is there anything I can do to save it or is it gonna definatly disintegrate??

thank you\

Not much you can do at this point but wait it out. Those starfish are known for dieing right after being addded.

I have found that it is best to drip acclimate starfish for at least 2 hours, 4 being better. Sorry to hear yours isn't looking good. Skip

Hey totalnewb, Skip is right. Check this set of info from a user what she suggests from a different forum:

Blue Linkia Star- Linkia laevigata

They are reef safe. Acclimate EXTREMELY slowly (4-6 hours of a slow drip) to keep their tissue from "exploding" due to salinty changes. I'll be posting more information on them during the next update of www.reefsource.com in the species database tomorrow.

Pretty insane huh? 4 to 6 hours, but i guess whatever it takes to keep them from "exploding" which I guess your sea star did :(
