Scratches in the GLASS

So... one reason I did a glass tank this time around is that before I had an acrylic tank. It scratched very easily. Last night, as I am checking out little details, like worms and pods and fun stuff... I discovered *GASP* scratches on the interior of the case of my tank!!!

And not just one! MANY!!!

I am beside myself!

This glass tank scratches as easily as plastic! Is that possible? WHAT THE HELL!!!!? Is there anything I can do... aside from replacing the tank? Oh I am so annoyed by this!

Tanks...

One trick is to use some plain ol' white paste toothpaste. It fills the scratch in nicely and makes it invisible. Probably not advised on the inside of your tank though. 3M makes a rubbing compound that is a good scratch remover and is totally organic. I've used it on glass and it works well. I don't know if that is a good idea on the inside either. I haven't seen any reef safe scratch removers, but I'm sure someone with more experience than me can recommend something.
