I just bought a sand goby today and a blenny....Blenny is doing just fine eating the algae on the live rock but the Goby was dead in about 1 hour....anyone know about Gobys?
the guy at the fish store said to put the bag in the tank for about 30 minutes, then put a little water inside the tank water in the bag.....soon after I put the Goby in and he died with in the hour....the others lived
1hr is pretty quick for a new fish to die. It's almost always a problem with the way you're acclimating your new critters. If you're using a dripline and spending 30mins to an hour to acclimate the new stock, then there's some other problem. If you're just floating the bag to let the temperatures equalize then that's probably why it died.
that and it probably stressed as well, could have been a salinity change that it couldn't recover from, and the water parameters toxicity levels. Hope nothing else dies, good luck to ya.
