Sorry, but I felt inclined to vent.

A neighbor or someone left some toxic chemical out, which I am guessing tempted our 8 year long pet to taste. She didn't make it. Yesterday was a tough day. My wife had late meetings and I was home with the kids. I was forced to watch her suffer until I had someone make it to watch the kids. Vets round here are pricks..no after hour calls..no matter what. That left me to drive 45 minutes to the nearest emergency animal hospital.

This is a pic of me (yeah..felt if I was posting her pic..I could throw me in as well) introducing Raley to our new kitten..She didn't seem to like the kitten. Raley only lasted 4 days after we brought home the kitten.

She has been an awesome friend. She is lab-bassett hound mix. First mut I ever owned, but won't be the last..mutts rule! Its just not the same round here. I'll even show off my beautiful kids!!! Check em out! BTW..I am not picking my nose!! :doh

I am off for a golf trip that couldn't get here at a better time. Least ya can put a image to my name now.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sad to hear about the loss; our neighbors lost Roxy an 8 year old mutt that meant so much to them.

She died of a rare blood disease that they didn't know about; in the small post card that was left on our door; they asked us to kindly not talk about the loss for 2 weeks as they pull through.

Our puppy Paris was friends with Roxy...

I'd be devastated if I lost Eddie (my male rat terrier). He's my 2nd dog since losing the one my mom got when I was in Kindergarten. I've always been scared about owning a dog, but I have taken the chance, and am very happy of owning Eddie since Nov. 2005. He's a few weeks shy of 9 months old, so I have to be very cautious as to what he's doing.... I'd hate to see my poor dog suffer over something I could have prevented.

I'm sorry to hear your loss, but at least you have a nice kitty to soften the blow a bit by providing that newfound energy and companionship. Be sure to post up a pic if you get another dog.
