removing powerhead from nano cube

Hope someone can help me. I have a 6 gal NanoCube that the powerhead has quit working on. I cannot get the unit out of the compartment. Is there a trick to this? Also this tank is only about 8months old and I feel that the powerhead should have lasted longer, so would like to replace it with a better unit. Any suggestions? Thanks

It should just be suction cupped in. It may just need to be taken apart and cleaned. If that doesn't work you may just want to replace it with a comparable maxi jet pump. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. I got the suction cups off but can't get the unit around the elbow to the outflow nozzle and can't get the elbow off.

That elbow should pull off was well if I'm not mistaken. I will look at mine tomorrow and let you know.

You could try soaking the powerhead in vinegar overnight. That always seems to clear up old clogged up powerheads.

The elbow should come right out, you may need to slightly twist it to loosen it and then pull it toward the back of the tank and it will come right out.
I used a Mini-Jet 606 in my NC 6 as an upgrade pump, it will give you 150-160 gph flow.

The elbow should come out in comes out on the 28 gallon nano. I agree with skipm thw mini-jet 606 works great I have it as my supply for my chiller. I have no complaints.
