Wow, good to see a product really work really well. Way to go Jesse, no more flatworms!

Sorry to hear about your lil buddy mr. velvet nudi......I'm sure he was tight while you had him.

Jesse,

I just purchased today a really nice red open brain. I noticed you placed yours up on the rocks, I asked my LFS where they prefer, he says the sand bed.

Do you disagree? I want him on my rocks not my sand bed; and I was happy when I saw your picture of him on the top...

Mike,

If you have enough real estate, the open brain coral will definitely do better if you place it on the sand bed. The coral inflates itself to not only pan for light sustenance, but also as a method of feeding on physical foods such as mysids and other small meaty food chunks. By placing it on the LR it can easily damage its tissue by inflating and deflating with the sharp edges of the rock.

Oh oooh,

Too late, I got home with my open brain and found the nicest spot all the way at the top of my reef, in between both metal halides, it's diffused lighting in the middle.

I would angle and re angle the coral and there was just no way to place him there without one side touching the live rock.

So out came my BSI super glue and I clued his base to the rock and since his base is so concaved he literally looks like a Montipora sitting on his throne.

You guys are really going to like the picture, he is really really red around his lips, I scored with this guy.

I hope to photo him up tommorrow....
