Quiet nanos?

Can you share ideas and solutions about making the nano in the bedroom quiet? Quiet equipment, silencing, soundproofing (box, not the room).

Undrilled tanks.

While quietness is considered by many as a matter of personal sensitivity, all people in household agree on the level of the noise, even when asked independently, so it's not an issue.
Let make a baseline - make everything, even already quiet, as quiet as possible. Any solutions are welcome.

So far I am limited to Mini-Jet pumps (Maxi-Jets are louder - have them all), one of two Koralia makes rattling noise, Tunze Nano DOC skimmer 9082? (smallest) is reasonably quiet, and BakPak2 skimmer inside the AquaFuge-like fuge became quiet enough after two months, but return splashes all around - making sound and salt creep.

Shortcoming of Mini-Jets is impossibility of directing flow under angle. Adding deflector from Maxi-Jet makes Mini-Jet too big. I have to place at least 4 of them in 20g long tank to keep detritus suspended somehow.

Drilling and adding one Eheim pump is not an option - and Eheim 1250 (have it) is also much louder, than 2 MiniJets with the same gph summarily.

Thanks.

Sounds like you've tried a lot of different options. I don't mean this in a rude way but if it's not physically possible to get the pumps any quieter then you always have ear plugs as an option. Or take it out of the bedroom. Sorry I'm not much help. ;-)

Move to the other house, or quit the hobby :lol3:

Some people mentioned, that the loudest part of equipment was Tunze Nano 9002 skimmer, and that some sound/vibration isolation was used inside equipment containing stand, but no details.
I tried to use the box, padded with usual foam, and louder equipment (as Eheim 1250 pump) - didn't helped.

Did web search and now asking here and there...

Who knows the solution for the tank, not for me (beside moving and ear plugs), advice will be appreciated..
