Question about a Wrasse

I bought a wrasse last week and he/she was fine at the LFS. As soon as i got him in the transfer container he started showing stress and was secreteing this stringy spider web like stuff from his fin. he was stressed and hiding fo alsmot a week and kept putting out this stringy stuff. he just started swimming around th etank in the last few days, but is still putting out this web like thing. has anyone had everience with this? :eusthink

but you could try putting in something for the LFS to help calm him down. I believe some stress coat would do him some good to help replenish the slime coat he has lost. That might be what you are seeing that he's losing...

Is your wrasse eating? Hopefully he'll pull through and get back to normal.

Some wrasses will secrete a "web" at night called a sleeping cocoon. They will also secrete it when stressed. I'd just keep an eye on him and be patient. Eventually he'll settle in

in the last couple days he actaully started to come out from his little cave. he is nibbling at the celaerpa and has gotten most of his colour back. he does look better. the main thing ive noticed aside from the web stuff is that he has ery shiney eyes. looks silvery. i dont remember that from before.
