I would add the recommended amount to a glass of tank water, stir it, and then add it slowly to an area of high flow...

I have seen this stuff on the internet and was a little sceptical, does it work then? is it safe?

Sorry for the questions but this is the first thread I have seen on this stuff.

I haven't ever used it either, but have heard good reviews about it. I just let my tank do its own "purple up".

I been dosing Purple Up for about 3 months now. Here's some pictures of it's:

Also please keep in mind that on top of the Purple up, I dose various Kent supplements like Calcium, Iron, Iodine, Strontium, Essential.. IMO, It works very well and even better with lots of cirulation and above average lighting.

Make sure you al are testing for Calcium if you are using this product, especially if you are using it with another Ca supplement. All it is is a different form of Ca... just cant remember which it is. IMO, you should use Kalkwasser for Ca and maintain a Ca level of around 350-400ppm ALONG with an alkalinity level of around 5 meq/L (~14dKH). This is the best way to get good coraline growth.
