FILTER FOR BIOCUBE

I think that they have had a design change because mine is positioned perpendiculr to the front glass like yours. I, also, saw that the diagrams shows it paralllel to the front glass. I'm not sure that this was a good change unless they were having the same problem before. Since I do a 20% water change each week there shouldn"t be too much of a problem. I do not think that my water is as clear as it should be without the filter.

For some reason I don't think that it is advisable to use the algae clear for a salt water aquarium. Check with the guys on the forum, and I'll keep watching for their response.

Okay, thanks for the update. Since I live in this little town of McAllen, TX they only get new fish on Monday's, so yesterday I went to pick my clowns, and I was surprised to find out that before arrival to the store they died (well, at least they didn't on me), so I ended buying a little bit more of live rock and 5 hermit crabs, I saw some other beautiful fish, but I already paid in advance for the ones I will have in my tank, so I resisted the temptation of buying more, since my tank is not that big.
On another hand, you were right in that part of not using algae clear for the tank; the recommendation from the guy at the pet store was to make sure I don't have more than 6 hours of the brightest light on, because that's an accelerator for algae growth.
Have you taken any picture of your tank? I am waiting for the clown fish to arrive in order to post the first one here.
Before I forget, so far you don't have the carbon filter anymore in your tank, but you left the other 2 filtering (spheres and sponge) methods in there, right?

Regarding cleaning the tank, what I ended doing was to buy latex gloves and with a non-scratching fiber cleaned the inside walls of the tank myself, that took care of the hardest to remove algae.

Hey guys hope everything is going good on your tanks. I know you guys are having a bit of an issue with the algae growth on the tank. I get the same thing but the best way to keep the growth down is to just clean the tank. I use a Mag-Float 30 and just clean the tank every couple of days or so. But no matter what you'll get algae. I haven't done much to my 29g since I just started a 20H and have been attending to that tank making sure everything is running up to par.

REMOVAL OF BIOBALLS-NOW WHAT!

Ok, I have finally removed the bioballs and all the filters. If I add lr to the largest of the back chambers, will it live without any light? I am afraid that if I add carbon to a chamber that it will cause the pump chamber to go dry again and a return to the same old problem. This has really been a big headache. I really feel that the tank needs some kind of filtration to remove the fine debris that floats around constantly. It takes so much away from my tank. Please help with this problem, if you can.
